CBD cocktails

It’s no surprise that CBD is also making its way into our drinks as CBD is becoming more and more prevalent in our kitchens as delicious desserts, appetizers, and more. In our experience, CBD cocktails (and mocktails) are an excellent way to wind down after a busy day.

While CBD-infused alcohol and cocktail mixers are gaining popularity, they are often priced more expensively than regular alcohol and mixers. They are not cheap.

Do you know that you can make a quick, easy, and delicious CBD cocktail by mixing your favourite CBD tincture into your favourite drink? CBD tinctures not only mix well into cold or hot drinks, but their flavour profiles will also enhance a cocktail’s taste as well as well-chosen bitters and garnishes.

Interested in trying a CBD cocktail but not quite ready to take the plunge into being a mixologist? To illustrate how CBD can improve the taste and experience of three popular cocktails, we have provided you with three starter recipes below.

Let’s refresh our memory of CBD and how it works before we dive into the CBD cocktail recipes. But why CBD? The CBD helps us understand how alcohol and other ingredients in our cocktails interact with it! With that knowledge, we can try new cocktails with confidence.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol is referred to as CBD. The cannabis plant contains several therapeutic molecular compounds called cannabinoids, including CBD, which has no psychoactive properties, unlike its distant relative, THC. In other words, you won’t get high from it. It is essential to understand this distinction when mixing a cocktail. CBD does not make you high, but it does have several benefits that people describe as calming, relaxing, and causing a distinct “chill” feeling.

How Does CBD Works?

It’s no secret that CBD has many health benefits. But how does it work? The endocannabinoid system interacts with CBD and other cannabinoids, like THC, THCV, CBG and CBN. It regulates sleep, digestion, and immunity, integrated with our peripheral and central nervous systems. All mammals possess this system, including cats, dogs and humans.

Are CBD Cocktails Safe?

Are CBD cocktails safe to drink if they’re made with cannabis tinctures and alcohol? Yes, they are. In addition, CBD doesn’t contribute to an intoxicating high as alcohol does. Additionally, some studies suggest that CBD might reduce blood alcohol concentrations and protect cells from damage caused by alcohol. However, it is essential to note that the FDA does not support any definitive claims. In contrast to alcohol, CBD provides its relaxing effects, so people seek it out rather than combining it with it.

How Do You Make a CBD Cocktail

It is the taste and dosage that make a CBD cocktail enjoyable. Here we’ll discuss how you should become familiar with the taste of your CBD tincture so that you know how it will affect the taste of your beverage. Also, learn what the best amount of CBD oil is for you. Be careful not to overdo it with CBD oil. Drink just as much as you usually do. It is essential to use alcohol in moderation and an ethical manner as with any substance. It’s important to moderate how much CBD you consume because CBD and alcohol work together to some degree, and too much will likely make you very sleepy. If someone asks what’s in their drink, you should always tell them.

Tips on How To Make CBD Cocktails Easily

There are countless CBD-infused alcohols and mixers on the market, but we’re going to focus today on how to make CBD cocktails with your very own CBD tincture. Why? Besides saving you a bit of money, making your own CBD tincture gives you the freedom to make what you like best with the alcohol brands and ingredients you like.

Discover how to make CBD cocktails that you’ll love with our tips.

  1. Taste your CBD tincture before you buy it. The CBD Tincture might taste citrusy with a hint of turmeric. You can thus pair it with a wide variety of drinks, such as summery mojitos and a bracing Manhattan. As an alternative, CBD Calming Tincture has a citrus flavour that is ideal for adding to gin and tonics and any other drink that would benefit from a botanical pop.
  2. Make sure you know how much to use. We recommend one tablespoon of CBD tincture for every one tablespoon of your recipe. It’s a bit different for cocktails. Think about how potent your cocktail was before adding CBD tincture and how many you might have. Think about adding half a serving of CBD tincture to your CBD cocktail if you’re planning to have two drinks. Remember to drink responsibly.
  3. Drink your CBD cocktail in the evening. Even though we’re not here to debate the relative merits of day drinking, it’s safe to say that CBD cocktails aren’t the best choice. A CBD cocktail is an evening cocktail, preferably consumed at home or within a short rideshare ride. Therefore, you are probably going to get sleepy after drinking CBD Manhattan.

CBD Cocktail Recipes

We have chosen three beloved and very different drinks for your CBD cocktail primer. Until you start blazing your trails, you can experience the versatility and breadth of CBD for drinks.

We recommend half a CBD tincture dose per recipe, assuming you will have more than one serving. Start slowly and adjust as needed.

Old Fashioned CBD

The classics seem to reappear again and again so we can enjoy them anew. It’s exciting to transform classic cocktails like the old-fashioned, the Moscow mule and the Manhattan into CBD cocktails when they’re charting again. One of the best parts is that it’s so simple, but it feels posh.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz of your favourite Bourbon
  • One dash of bitters (simply one because CBD oil tincture is also bitter)
  • Tincture of CBD oil, half a dropper
  • One sugar cube (or 1 tsp sugar)
  • Citrus fruit

Directions:

  1. You should chill your glass
  2. In a chilled glass, muddle your CBD oil tincture, sugar, and bitters together.
  3. Make sure to add ice cubes
  4. Pour the Bourbon in
  5. Sprinkle with a wedge of orange or a twist of lime

  • Lemon juice, two tablespoons
  • Warm water
  • One fresh lemon

  3. Mix whiskey, honey, CBD tincture, and lemon juice.
  4. Taste.
